The X-Men Are Adorable in New Disney-fied Redesigns From Marvel Artist

The talented Marvel artist Mark Brooks has slowly been releasing an ever-expanding “Disneyfied X-Men” series on Twitter, transporting beloved heroes and villains into a classic Disney film universe. While Marvel may now be a major part of the Disney family, most Marvel comics have little in common with the beloved Disney animated films, but this art project proves that the X-Men would look amazing in the world of Beauty & the Beast or Sleeping Beauty.

Disney’s animated films, particularly some of their most iconic princess stories, have their fair share of drama and action, yet none of them reach the level of violence, tragedy, and drama that the X-Men experience daily.

Mark Brooks, an acclaimed artist beloved by many for the gorgeous Immortal X-Men covers he has illustrated, shared his Disneyfied X-Men project on Twitter, revealing a newly transformed character daily, including Disney versions of Gambit, Storm, Magik, Magneto, and Emma Frost.

Mark Brooks’ Transports The X-Men Into A Disney World

The timing of Mark Brooks’ gorgeous X-Men art project couldn’t be better, seeing as the now Disney-owned Marvel just released the reboot to the beloved 1990’s X-Men: The Animated Series. The fabulous X-Men ’97 is getting critical acclaim, and it is the closest the X-Men have ever been to a classically animated Disney cartoon. Brooks’ project started with some of the X-Men’s most iconic heroes, with the artist making the hilarious choice to illustrate the powerful Colossus in a pose reminiscent of the burly Gaston from Beauty & the Beast.

Mark Brooks is known for his dramatic covers, each looking like delicately rendered Renaissance paintings, so it is exciting to see the artist in such a departure from his typical style, and still killing it. Mark Brooks nails the classic Disney look, especially the big-eyed tiny-waisted women, and his rendition of Kate Pryde is flawless. Not only does Kate look like every young princess in a classic Disney film, but the cartoonized Lockheed – Kate’s pet alien dragon – is truly the perfect recreation of the animal companions Disney film princesses always had.

Sinister And The Goblin Queen Would Make Amazing Disney Villains

Mark Brooks seems to have no intention of stopping his Disney-fied X-Men project, adding more characters daily, but two highlights of the art so far are his interpretations of Sinister and Madelyne Pryor, the Goblin Queen. Sinister and Maddie would be truly iconic villains in a classic Disney cartoon, it is easy to see the Goblin Queen as a fabulous Maleficent replacement, with Sinister revealed to be the true evil, pulling the strings all along. Brooks’ depiction of Madelyne and Sinister, as campy conniving villains adds the perfect drama to the iconic characters, easily proving how wonderful they would be as Disney baddies.

Hopefully, Mark Brooks never stops this amazing Disney/X-Men crossover art project, and perhaps may even inspire Marvel to do a “What If…? The X-Men lived in a Disney cartoon universe,” one-shot comic.
