Captain Marvel is ready to fight in the new promo for The Marvels.

“We are at war,” Nick Fury states at the beginning of the new The Marvels promo. “Captain Marvel, we need you to save the world.” Titled “Fight,” the 30-second promo features quick flashes at several different action scenes from the forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. Fans can also spot Park Seo-joon’s mystery ally of Captain Marvel — believed to be the comic book character Prince Yan of Aladna — within one of the brief clips.

“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe,” reads the synopsis for The Marvels. “When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”

While The Marvels will act as a sequel to several MCU projects — including Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel and Secret Invasion — the upcoming entry in the superhero franchise is first and foremost a follow-up to 2019’s Captain Marvel. The $1 billion hit for Marvel Studios introduced audiences to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, who would go on to appear in Endgame, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Ms. Marvel (the latter two being quick cameos in post-credits scenes).

Joining Carol Danvers for her next big screen adventure are Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), with The Marvels set after their respective adventures in WandaVision, Ms. Marvel and Secret Invasion. Other characters confirmed to appear in The Marvels include Kamala Khan’s mother Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff), father Yusuf (Mohan Kapur) and older brother Aamir (Saagar Shaikh), Monica’s mother Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) and FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park). All the actors are reprising their respective roles from previous MCU media.

Zawe Ashton, who is engaged to MCU mainstay Tom Hiddleston (Loki), joins the franchise as Dar-Benn, a Kree warrior-scientist turned politician who is “hellbent on saving the Kree home planet of Hala and exalting her people to their rightful place in the universe,” according to director Nia DaCosta.

The Marvels opens in theaters on Nov. 10, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.
