Marvel Comics has released new variant covers for the first issue of the upcoming X-Men book NYX, featuring Laura Kinney’s Wolverine. Laura debuted as X-23 in Joe Quesada and Josh Middleton’s original NYX series.
Per Marvel, Wolverine will do what she does best in NYX “as she hunts down violent anti-mutant oppressors in the darkest corners of the city!” Acclaimed artists Rogê Antônio, Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau, and Todd Nauck drew the variant covers spotlighting Laura Kinney. NYX is penned by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (Timeless, Alien: Black, White & Blood), with Francesco Mortarino (Avengers, Cult Of Carnage: Misery) on art duty.

Set in the upcoming X-Men ‘From the Ashes’ era after the fall of Krakoa, NYX will deal with the complex realities faced by iconic and fan-favorite mutants who reenter a world filled with bigotry, mistrust, and misinformation. Without the X-Men’s guidance and Krakoa’s protection, they must learn to overcome the hate.
Marvel’s NYX description reads, “This is a book about mutants living past the end of their world and into a new beginning. This is Ms. Marvel embracing her mutant life in the neon streets of the Lower East Side. This is Anole trying to keep his head above water. This is Wolverine in the shadows of Bushwick, protecting her own. This is Prodigy writing history as it happens — and Sophie Cuckoo finding her own way. The news reports are bleak. An Iconic Mutant Team Rises From the Ashes of Krakoa this Summer
Kamala and the X-Men students will not be the only mutants dealing with the post-Krakoa realities of the world. Forge will lead an all-new iteration of Marvel’s iconic strike team in the X-Force series, also set in the X-Men‘s ‘From the Ashes’ era. The team will include former New X-Men leader Surge, the mastermind behind Krakoa’s X-Force, Sage, and Tank. X-Force #1, which arrives on July 31, 2024, will feature Deadpool as the first guest star, with Forge recruiting A-List characters for specific missions throughout the series.
NYX #1 will arrive in comic book shops on July 24, 2024.
