Blade’s Bloodcoven Easily Defeats Every Avengers Hero

No hero is safe from the horrifying power of the Bloodcoven

The Avengers have been dealing with crisis after crisis, from Earth’s recent attack by the Ashen Combine to finally backing up the X-Men in their war against the villainous Orchis. As the Avengers celebrate their successful assault against many Orchis bases, they witness the Earth’s Darkforce users becoming portals, bringing upon a permanent night and an attack by vampires. Retreating to the Impossible City to regroup with “Blade,” the Avengers accidentally invite the Bloodcoven into their high-tech new base instead.

The Impossible City debuted in 2023’s
Avengers
#3, as the sentient headquarters of the Ashen Combine, before the Avengers freed it and it chose to become the superhero team’s newest base.

The Bloodcoven – led by Bloodstorm One alongside Megrim, Unusual, Smoke Eater, Cruel, and Damascene – immediately begin their attack on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, starting with incapacitating the Scarlet Witch. The Bloodcoven are vampires that feed on not only blood, but also things like fear, pain, and ghosts. As Wanda attempts to assault Unusual, the strange vampire feasts on her chaos magic, ensnaring the powerful witch. Damascene’s sharp form can cut Asgardian flesh, as well as synthezoid skin, taking down both Thor and Vision, before Thor is brutally stabbed through the head, not killing him but taking him out of the game.

Bloodstorm One Fails To Capture And Turn Captain America

T’Challa saves Sam so that humanity will continue to have a symbol

Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther are all easily defeated, even more brutally than in their battles with the Ashen Combine, proving just how powerful and terrible the Bloodcoven truly is. Bloodstorm One is excited at the prospect of turning Captain America, bringing humanity’s symbol of hope and goodness over to the side of the vampires. Before this happens T’Challa manages to teleport Sam Wilson away against his will, saving him and angering Bloodstorm immensely. Later, the Structure’s leader Blade confirms to Doctor Strange that the Avengers have indeed been defeated.

While teases for the Blood Hunt event have revealed that Black Panther will be turned into a vampire, the fate of the other Avengers heroes is still incredibly unclear. Marvel’s Avengers are one of the universe’s most powerful and resilient superhero teams, so the fact that the Bloodcoven so easily decimated their ranks is a foreboding tease of the future.

Blood Hunt #1 from Marvel Comics is available in stores now.
