Casting Miles Morales In Live-Action: 20 Actors Who Could Play Him In A Spider-Man Movie
Miles Morales’ live-action casting has been in question since the character was teased in the MCU in 2017, and here are 20 candidates for the role.
At this point, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is unlikely to ever happen, but Sony is actively pursuing Miles coming into the world of live-action. In May 2023, long-time Spider-Man producer and former Sony Pictures boss Amy Pascal confirmed that a Miles Morales live-action movie was part of their future plans. As the Hollywood strikes did take up most of 2023, no updates on Miles’ movie emerged, but presumably, it is still going forward,
There are two ways that Sony could properly tackle Miles’ live-action debut, and one of them is having him enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland ends up being the actor’s final time playing Peter, Marvel Studios could work together with Sony to make Miles their next Spider-Man. If Avengers: Secret Wars is truly making a soft reboot to the MCU, Miles being the new Spider-Man after The Multiverse Saga would work in terms of timing.
While he hasn’t shown up on screen, Miles actually exists in the MCU, as Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis references that he has a nephew in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The other option is if Miles ends up being the Spider-Man in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, as they have yet to introduce the web crawler in any of their movies. That way, if Peter stays in the MCU beyond Spider-Man 4, Sony can have both web-slingers in their respective franchises at the same time. Hopefully, Miles Morales’ live-action future will get some positive updates in 2024 sooner rather than later.
