Marvel Studios has shared a new poster for The Fantastic Four, its upcoming reboot of Marvel’s First Family. The one-sheet, featuring artwork of Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, was released to celebrate 4-4 Day (a.k.a. April 4).

The studio posted the poster on its official X account alongside a caption encouraging readers to head to Marvel.com/FantasticFour to learn more about the forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. If fans do, they are initially treated to a 404 Page Not Found screen featuring H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot. However, upon closer inspection, fans can spot a QR code on H.E.R.B.I.E., which, if clicked, will take the reader to a page for the Future Foundation, an organization in the comics that Mister Fantastic created.

Five Issues of the Fantastic Four Available for Free on Marvel Unlimited

While on the Future Foundation page, readers are informed that they have been “granted access to read” five specific issues of Fantastic Four on Marvel Unlimited for free “to prepare for the upcoming meeting.” These issues are Fantastic Four #1 (the first appearance of Marvel’s First Family), Fantastic Four #48-50 (the first appearance of Galactus and Silver Surfer), and Fantastic Four: Life Story #1 (which takes place in the 1960s). With Marvel Studios selecting these issues specifically as important comics that fans should read ahead of the movie’s release in 2025, it seemingly confirms that Galactus will be the main villain of The Fantastic Four. It also further hints at the movie being set in the 1960s, which Marvel Studios first teased with its casting announcement artwork back on Valentine’s Day.

This news comes one day after Ozark star Julie Garner boarded the cast of The Fantastic Four in the role of Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, Shalla-Bal was introduced in 1968’s Silver Surfer #1 as the lover of Norrin Radd, the original Silver Surfer. Garner is the fifth actor to be cast in the hotly-anticipated MCU movie after Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic/Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman/Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch/Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing/Ben Grimm).

Will Doctor Doom Appear in The Fantastic Four?

With Galactus now expected to be the main villain of the reboot (Antonio Banderas and Javier Bardem have been reported to be Marvel’s top picks for the role), it is unknown if the Fantastic Four’s most recognizable villain, Doctor Doom, will appear. The two villains previously appeared together in the 2007 film, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, with Julian McMahan reprising his role from 2005’s Fantastic Four as Doctor Doom and Galactus appearing as a silent, cosmic hurricane-like cloud.

The Fantastic Four is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
