If there is one thing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done perfectly over the years, it is casting the right actors for their characters. One such example of this is replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk.

When Mark Ruffalo was cast as The Hulk, he was far from the star that he is today in Hollywood. Despite that, Marvel was extremely desperate to lock in Ruffalo as The Hulk to do a mega reveal of The Avengers at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con.

At times, Marvel is known for doing extravagant things to stand out from their competition and a perfect example of it was how Mark Ruffalo was given the news of his casting as The Hulk before 2010 SDCC. Ruffalo’s agent’s message to the MCU star was revealed in an article by Slash Film.

At the end of the day, Marvel Studios made the right decision by going ahead with Mark Ruffalo rather than Edward Norton. Ruffalo has brought a unique touch to the iconic character, and fans have fallen in love with it.


The only complaint that most fans have is not getting to see Ruffalo in a standalone Hulk movie. This wish could become a reality if reports of the character’s future at the MCU are to be believed.

Is Mark Ruffalo Getting a Standalone Hulk Movie?

Mark Ruffalo’s surprise appearance at the 2010 SDCC was unarguably one of the most iconic moments for the veteran actor at the MCU. However, there is one thing that could beat Ruffalo’s initial hype at the studio.


Yes, we are referring to none other than a potential movie starring the World War Hulk version. Many believe that the chances of the film getting a green light at the MCU are pretty great following a small teaser of the concert in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Considering the bad guys in the series were after She-Hulk to get her blood and inject themselves with it to turn into Hulk, it could be the perfect setup for a World War Hulk movie. Unfortunately, as of now, Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed the movie is under development.
