Spider-Man 2 lets players swing through a vast open-world version of New York City, with famous locations like Queens, Brooklyn, and Coney Island to explore. The game features small interactions between the Spider-heroes and everyday citizens, allowing players to share high-fives, fist bumps, and selfies, making the city feel alive.

Spidey has always been a hero of the people, and one funny Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 clip featured an NPC civilian paying him back by helping the webslinger save face during an awkward moment with Wraith. Just like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales before it, Spider-Man 2 lets players swing through an open-world version of New York City full of busy citizens to rescue and crimes to thwart. Spider-Man 2’s open-world version of the Big Apple is one of the biggest to be depicted in a Marvel-licensed video game to boot, with Insomniac adding famous locations like Queens, Brooklyn, and Coney Island for Peter Parker and Miles Morales to swing through.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man games have also featured small interactions between the two Spider-heroes and the everyday citizens, allowing players to share high-fives, fist bumps, and even selfies with passersby with a simple button press. This helps make the open world of Marvel’s Spider-Man and its sequels feel more like a living, breathing city while retaining Spidey’s “friendly neighborhood” mantra. Spider-Man 2 builds on this by allowing players to meet up with either the Spider-Man they currently aren’t controlling or the former police captain-turned-ruthless vigilante Wraith to assist in stopping random street crimes.

Hilarious Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Clip Shows Miles ‘Losing His Job’

A funny Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 clip shows Miles Morales seemingly losing his job as protector of New York City after a rough day at work.

Combining both these elements can lead to some funny and memorable moments in Spider-Man 2, as demonstrated by a recent video clip from Reddit user Freehabano. This brief post on r/SpidermanPS4 shows Peter offering up a high-five to Wraith following a successful crime bust, only to be coldly shot down by his reluctant ally. Luckily for him, a nearby civilian takes him up on his offer before heading off to recharge his phone. Other Reddit users have joked about New Yorkers never leaving each other hanging and commented about how bitter Yuri seems to be during her Spider-Man 2 side mission.

Fans have been having a lot of fun with Spider-Man 2 since it first launched to record-breaking sales back in October, thanks in no small part to the random events and NPC interactions players can come across while patrolling New York. Spider-Man 2 players have witnessed cops hanging around idly while Peter and Miles do the work of taking down criminals, Miles himself being knocked into unemployment during a battle with a Symbiote monster, and a young Peter defying the timeline by visiting the grave of his beloved Aunt May years before her actual death.

Peter’s awkward interaction with Wraith, as well as the nameless civilian stepping in to save the web-slinger’s victory high-five, is one such moment – and it is certainly on-brand for all parties involved given Wraith’s strained relationship with Spidey following the events of the first game’s City That Never Sleeps DLC. While Peter and Yuki might not be on the best terms, at least the hero of NYC can breathe easy knowing that the average citizen has his back like he has theirs in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man and its Miles Morales spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 console exclusive. Insomniac’s open-world game features Peter Parker and Miles Morales as dual protagonists, with the two heroes going up against the likes of Kraven, Venom, and Lizard.
