Last year, Ryan Reynolds took the world by surprise when, in a video true to his comic style, he announced that Wade Wilson would officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Deadpool 3. While this would have been enough for most fans, he also revealed that Jackman’s Wolverine would make his triumphant return in the film, despite the fact that the Australian actor had seemingly closed that chapter of his career after 2017’s Logan.
Since that moment, fans have been waiting for the release of the film directed by Shawn Levy, which will now hit theaters on July 26, 2024. And Iman Vellani, who, just like her character Kamala Khan, is a big fan of superheroes, really wants to see Deadpool 3 too. Although she would make one change to the Wolverine suit.
Speaking with CinemaBlend, the Ms. Marvel star confessed that she would like the suit to show off Jackman’s muscular arms:
“I do wish it was the half-sleeve suit, not gonna lie, I want to see his arms. But, when I saw those leaked images, I was going crazy. Like, especially where we’ve come from Brian Singer’s X-Men and like their entire black leather suits. And that like one joke that Cyclops made of like, ‘Oh, would you prefer yellow spandex?’ This is the moment all the fans have been waiting for. It’s so cool.”
The first images from the set of Deadpool 3, which recently resumed filming after the end of the actors’ strike, showed Jackman wearing his character’s famous yellow suit, something that excited fans. But rumors indicate that several versions of the mutant will appear in the film, so one of those versions could wear a different suit. And, if Vellani is lucky enough, he may be able to show his muscles.

Beyond Marvel Studios’ constant desire to deliver epic crossovers to their fans, as they did with Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jackman’s participation in Deadpool 3 will mark a before and after in the MCU. Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, fans have been waiting for the X-Men and Fantastic Four to debut in the franchise, either with new actors or bringing back some of the stars who previously participated in those universes.
Deadpool 3 will reportedly give closure to all those stories from the mutant universe, since rumors indicate that Jackman will not be the only one from those films in the movie. But the new outing will also be one of the most important titles within the current MCU saga, as it looks set to explore more alternate universes of Marvel’s history than any other MCU movie so far.
Deadpool 3 will be the only theatrical release from Marvel Studios in 2024, making its success more imperative than perhaps any other movie in the franchise considering the MCU’s recent big screen failures.
