Summary

Deadpool 3 will resume production soon, thanks to the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, bringing great news for fans of the Merc with a Mouth. The film had shot 50% before the shutdown and will pick up where it left off, with filming expected to restart this week. This positive update signals progress for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other upcoming MCU movies impacted by the strike.

Deadpool 3 is reportedly set to resume production very soon as the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets a positive update following the recent announcement of the SAG-AFTRA strike coming to an end. As Ryan Reynolds returns to reprise the role of Deadpool to wrap up his trilogy, Wade Wilson is joining the MCU through Deadpool 3, following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. While Deadpool 3 had started filming earlier this year, production was paused when the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes went into effect.

The SAG-AFTRA strike is set to be suspended as of November 9, and with that comes great news for multiple productions, including various upcoming Marvel movies. Deadline reports that Deadpool 3, which had shot 50% of its content before filming was shut down, will resume as early as this week “or in very near future.” At the time of this story’s publication, no one involved with Deadpool 3, Disney, or Marvel Studios has commented on the latest report.

Even though Deadpool 3 filming will be resuming sooner rather than later, it begs the question if the upcoming MCU Phase 5 movie will be delayed. On October 19, it was reported that Deadpool 3 had been taken off the release schedule, in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike still going on at the time. When Screen Rant reached out to Disney for comment, they had not officially announced an update to Deadpool 3‘s release date as it had yet to be decided.

However, at this point, it wouldn’t be shocking if Deadpool 3 gets pushed back further into 2024 once they finish filming. As frustrating as it might be for the MCU audience, it will benefit Deadpool 3 to be delayed in terms of its release date. With Deadpool 3 set to bring Wolverine back, introduce Wade to the larger MCU, and potentially be a major installment for The Multiverse Saga, having a proper post-production will lead to better end results.

While Matthew Macfadyen has joined Deadpool 3 as a secret character, Emma Corrin has been cast in a mysterious villain role.

It is also possible that new Deadpool 3 spoilers will emerge once filming resumes, especially if they are filming on location. Time will tell what else Deadpool 3 has in store for the audience and whether other Fox-Marvel characters will be back for the highly anticipated Phase 5 adventure. For now, the world will have to wait and see what happens with Deadpool 3 in the coming weeks as production gets ready to resume.
