Deadpool & Wolverine has Marvel fans as excited as they have been in recent memory for a variety of reasons. To begin with, it’s set to be the first major X-Men film produced by Marvel Studios, which is a huge milestone in itself. The movie is set to finally bring Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool into the MCU, marks the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and features the big screen debut of Cassandra Nova — a villain X-Men fans never thought they’d get on the big screen.

With the multiversal nature of Marvel’s television and cinematic universes, there are ample opportunities for cameos from exciting guest stars to pop up in Deadpool & Wolverine, including several Marvel heroes from the MCU and the Fox movies that fans want to see.

10 Loki Is Holding the Multiverse Together

Comic Book Debut: Journey Into Mystery #85

Loki has had a rather interesting journey in the MCU. Played by Tom Hiddleston, Loki starts out as the villain of the first Thor movie, then proceeds to serve as Thanos’s lackey in The Avengers. However, he teams up with his brother in Thor: Dark World and appears again in Thor: Ragnarok, ultimately resulting in his death in Avengers: Infinity War at the hands of Thanos. The character returned in Avengers: Endgame and was able to escape with the Tesseract from his reality, which led to Loki.

Loki tells the story of Loki agreeing to work with the Time Variance Authority to hunt down another Loki variant known as Sylvie. Loki and Sylvie end up falling in love and encountering He Who Remains, a Kang variant who offers them the leadership of the TVA. Sylvie refuses, not wanting to be responsible for the destruction of an entire alternate universe, and kills He Who Remains.

This led to Loki‘s second season, where Loki worked with the TVA to save the multiverse, reuniting with Sylvie before basically sacrificing himself to stabilize the multiverse. Loki made the full transition to hero, holding the strands of reality together. Loki is extremely popular, and since Deadpool & Wolverine deals with the TVA, many people would love to see him again. Even if it’s just showing him sitting out in the gulf between universes, it would be a moment that every MCU fan would love.

9 Mobius Would Play Very Well Off Deadpool & Wolverine

30 Villains Who Were Actually Right

Villains may be “bad guys” but they don’t always have bad ideas. From movies and TV to comics and video games, these villains had the right idea!

Loki was only part of the reason why Loki was so great — the other was Mobius. Mobius is an agent of the Time Variance Authority who was assigned to work with Loki. The character was played by Owen Wilson, who brought his laidback charm to the part, acting as the perfect foil for the more devious and high-strung Loki. Mobius isn’t technically a superhero, but his intelligence and unflappable nature were key to helping Loki save the multiverse.

Mobius didn’t remember his previous life before joining the TVA, but he was obsessed with jet skis. Loki Season Two finally reveals that he was a single father who was sold jet skis, living with his two children. Mobius decided to go and watch his counterpart in the Sacred Timeline after Loki saved the multiverse, leaving the TVA.

Mobius isn’t in the TVA anymore, but his story was quite open-ended, so it would be easy to justify bringing him back. Mobius is as much a part of the TVA as the paint on the walls, so any TVA scenes need Mobius. On top of that, Mobius would be a great foil for Deadpool and Wolverine. All three characters are played by great actors, and the work they could do together would be massively entertaining.

Comic Book Debut: Giant-Size X-Men #1

Wolverine is known for his relationships with the X-Women, both romantic and platonic. Wolverine helped train Kate Pryde and Jubilee, took Rogue under his wing in her early days with the team, and is known for his love for Jean Grey. However, an argument can be made that Wolverine’s most important relationship with one of the X-Men’s mutant women is his friendship with Storm. In the comics, Wolverine and Storm have worked very closely, with Wolverine acting as her second in command during the early years of her leadership of the X-Men and they eventually started a romantic relationship.

In the Fox movies, Wolverine and Storm weren’t as close as they were in the comics at first, but that changed by the time of X3: The Last Stand. Storm has always been in the highest echelon of the X-Men, both in the movies and the comics. Storm is still beloved by X-Men fans even though she hasn’t been portrayed to be as powerful in the X-Men movies as she is in the comics.

Storm would be great in Deadpool & Wolverine. Storm has been played by two different actresses — Halle Berry in the original X-Men films and Alexandra Shipp in the First Class movies — and Deadpool & Wolverine could bring both of them together. Wolverine and Storm have always gelled well, which would make an appearance by her a lot of fun, and Deadpool would definitely have some great jokes if she showed up.

7 Nick Fury Is A Prolific MCU Character

Comic Book Debut: Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #1

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is a heavyweight in the MCU. Jackson brought star power to the early MCU and made Nick Fury into one of the franchise’s most popular characters. Fury was the glue that held the early MCU together, his place as SHIELD Director and role in bringing the Avengers together making part of basically every movie, even if it was just a cameo in a mid or post-credit scene. Nick Fury’s star power has taken a backseat in recent years, so he needs a win. Deadpool & Wolverine can be that for him.

In the comics, Wolverine and Nick Fury have known each other for decades. Deadpool has worked with Fury at times, so the director of SHIELD has a connection to both of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s lead characters. Nick Fury is very important to the superhero community in any universe, making it easy to justify his appearance in the film.

Seeing Nick Fury in Deadpool & Wolverine would be great because of Deadpool’s fourth wall breaking tendencies. It would be a lot of fun to see what jokes Deadpool might tell if Nick Fury showed up, and as much as Wolverine might hate it, MCU fans would love the cameo.

6 Professor X Is Due For Another MCU Appearance

10 Best X-Men Movies (They’ll Never Make)

Before the X-Men debut in the MCU, we’re taking a look back at some of the undeveloped films starring Marvel’s merry mutants that fans will never see.

Professor X is almost always the most important mutant on Earth in any universe he exists in. Xavier had a dream, one of peaceful co-existence between humans and mutants, but the realities of relations between the two races made that dream nearly impossible to realize. This led Xavier to starting the Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters, allowing him to bring together the X-Men. Professor X is the heart of the X-Men, and having a movie starring a member of the team would be weird.

Wolverine and Xavier were very close in the X-Men films. Wolverine was Xavier’s caretaker in Logan, taking care of the professor after his deteriorating mental state caused him to accidentally use his powers to kill the X-Men. Xavier was the first mutant to appear in the MCU, as a member of the Illuminati from another Earth in Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness.

Xavier has also been played by two actors Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy in the First Class movies —but Stewart is probably the one that should appear in Deadpool & Wolverine. He’s the most popular, plus he’s the one that has the most connections with Wolverine. On top of that, Deadpool could tell Captain Picard or Gurney Halleck jokes about him. Xavier and Wolverine go well together, and adding Deadpool would make the whole thing sing.

5 Iron Man Is The Most Popular MCU Character

Comic Book Debut: Tales of Suspense #39

Iron Man hadn’t been a popular character in the Marvel comics in years, and traditionally, he was never as well-known to the general audiences as Spider-Man or the X-Men. All of that changed in 2008, when Robert Downey Jr. began playing Iron Man. RDJ’s charm made Iron Man a hit and that buoyed the MCU, allowing it to become the juggernaut it is today.

In the comics, Captain America was usually the leader and most important member of the Avengers, but the MCU had Iron Man take on that role. Iron Man was even made to look better than Captain America in Captain America: Civil War, proving that he is the top dog of the Avengers. Robert Downey Jr.’s final appearance in the MCU was Avengers: Endgame, when the character sacrificed himself to destroy Thanos and save the universe.

Robert Downey Jr. leaving the MCU was a blow to its star power, and things haven’t been the same since. RDJ making an appearance as Iron Man in Deadpool & Wolverine would be amazing. MCU fans have missed the character immensely, and an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine would make everyone happy. As usual, getting Deadpool’s commentary when Iron Man showed up would be half the fun.

4 Captain America Is A Lost MCU Star That Everyone Wants To See

Comic Book Debut: Captain America Comics #1

Captain America: The First Avenger was the last MCU film before The Avengers was released. Chris Evans’ performance transformed Cap into the second most popular MCU character, and eventually, Captain America received his own film trilogy. Just like Iron Man, the character had his final swan song in Avengers: Endgame, seemingly bringing an end to his role in the MCU.

Captain America’s ultimate fate involved him returning the Infinity Stones to their correct time period. Cap ended up going back to the 1940s after he was done, reuniting with Peggy Carter. Cap lived a normal life with her before appearing in the present as an old man.

Captain America’s fate makes him perfect for an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Perhaps Deadpool and Wolverine could show up during his time for Peggy looking for help since Deadpool has definitely watched Endgame and would likely want to visit its star characters. MCU fans would also really enjoy Evans taking up the role again, making it a fun possibility for all parties.

3 Jean Grey And Wolverine Should Be Reunited

Comic Book Debut: The X-Men #1

Jean Grey is the first lady of the X-Men.Whether it be the comics or the movies, Jean’s place in the X-Men has always been very important. She and Wolverine had always had a special relationship; he was in love with her and she loved him in her own way, but was always with Cyclops. Jean is also one of the team’s more powerful members, her telepathy and telekinesis putting her in Xavier and Magneto’s league.

Jean Grey possessed the Phoenix Force twice in the Fox movies: once in X3: The Last Stand and once in Dark Phoenix. Wolverine had to kill Jean Grey in X3: The Last Stand, which would haunt him for years, as established in The Wolverine. The changes to the timeline made in X-Men: Days Of Future Past nullified Jean Grey’s death.

Jean Grey was played by Famke Janssen in the original X-Men movies and Sophie Turner in the First Class incarnation. Wolverine and Jean Grey usually appear together in pop culture in some respect, so her making an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine makes perfect sense. Everyone loves seeing Wolverine and Jean Grey together, and it would be surprising if she didn’t show up for a cameo.

2 Spider-Man Would Be the Ultimate Crossover Deadpool & Wolverine

Comic Book Debut: Amazing Fantasy #15

10 Villains Fans Want To See In Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featured an exciting cast of villains, and its sequel has an opportunity to introduce even more.

Deadpool loves superheroes, which is why he loves Wolverine. However, Deadpool loves one hero more than the others: Spider-Man. Spider-Man is Marvel’s most popular character and has appeared in three separate cinematic universes (four if the Spider-Verse movies count) and is currently played in the MCU by Tom Holland.

In the comics, Spider-Man and Wolverine clashed for years but are now the best of friends. Spider-Man and Deadpool had their own team-up series for a time, showcasing both their quick wits and natural chemistry. Spider-Man’s relationship with both heroes was always great thanks to his sense of humor.

It really doesn’t matter which Spider-Man — Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland, or one of the Spider-Verse alternates — shows up in Deadpool & Wolverine. Almost every Marvel fan, regardless of their age, wants to see Peter Parker make a surprise appearance in the movie.

1 Wolverine’s Daughter Laura Is Insanely Popular But Has Only Appeared In One Movie

Comic Book Debut: NYX #3

Logan is considered by many to be the greatest superhero movie ever made. The movie is a picture of a man — not a hero — at the end of his life, trying to create a family he never had. In the film, Wolverine meets his lab-created daughter, Laura, who fans immediately fell in love with. Laura was played by actress Dafne Keen, and everyone wanted to see more of her after Logan; however, Fox never did anything with the character.

In the comics, Laura is among Wolverine’s most beloved children. She ends up taking his place after he died, acting as Wolverine for a few years. Laura trained to be an Avenger, has worked with X-Force, and even been a member of the X-Men on more than one occasion.

Dafne wasn’t even a teenager when she played Laura, but she’s now old enough to play her as Wolverine. It would be awesome if Deadpool and Wolverine were on their last legs in battle and suddenly Laura showed up in her Wolverine costume. It’s going to be hard to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but a surprise appearance by Dafne Keen as Laura in Deadpool & Wolverine would make it a lot easier.
