The following contains major spoilers for “Revelation: Superior,” from the pages of Giant-Size X-Men #1, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Marvel Comics’ latest mysterious mutant might just be more powerful than everyone and anyone she will ever meet.

“Revelation: Superior” (by Al Ewing, Sara Pichelli, Federico Blee, and VC’s Clayton Cowles) brings readers to the beautiful and bustling streets of Rome. Justina LaGuardia’s day out is interrupted by a brazen thief. Fortunately, Justina is more than capable of recovering her own purse, though that isn’t why Charles Xavier has traveled halfway around the world to see her. Instead, Charles has come looking to recruit Justine for his then-budding team of X-Men. Unfortunately for him, Charles has wildly underestimated what Justina is capable of, as her power in and of itself simply makes her superior to the competition in every possible way, even if that means becoming a stronger telepath than the most famous of them all.

Introduced alongside the rest of the eponymous team in the pages of 1963’s X-Men #1 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Charles Xavier is easily one of if not the most famous telepath in the Marvel Universe. The founder of the X-Men and a lifelong proponent of mutant rights, Professor Xavier spent decades reaching out to every young mutant in need whom he could find. In doing so, Xavier was directly responsible for not just the rise of the X-Men, but for that of almost every subsequent X-team in the history of Marvel Comics.

More importantly, when it comes to Justina’s introduction, Professor X is classified as an Alpha-Level Mutant and an Omega-Level Telepath. These ranking systems are relatively ambiguous in terms of hard defining lines, yet they are still fairly easy to stack up against one another. While there have been mutants who surpass the Omega-Level designation, such as Franklin Richards and Gabriel Summers, that same designation is no less indicative of a being whose powers have no quantifiable limit.

All-New Venom is Reuniting with the Man Who Rewrote the Rules for Symbiote Heroes

Marvel’s All-New Venom and another iconic symbiote superhero are coming face-to-face once more, but it isn’t their reunion fans should worry about.

Now that Justina LaGuardia has proven that her powers allow her to surpass those of someone like Charles Xavier, it is probably safe to say that she is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Coupled with the fact that Justina was able to instantly master those same powers to the point of being able to wipe Xavier’s memory of her very existence could even be proof that she is the single most powerful being in the Marvel Universe. That being said, Justina has made no other appearances, nor has she been referenced outside of her debut story, leaving the future of her character entirely up in the air.
