Marvel Comics is reprinting yet another hard-to-find Wolverine story in yet another brand-new one-shot.
Per Marvel Comics, the upcoming Wolverine by Chris Claremont one-shot will include more than just an original story. On top of the new standalone story from Claremont and artist Tom Reilly, which will expand upon Wolverine’s time in Japan in the 1980s, Wolverine by Chris Claremont will also include a reprint of the Wolverine tie-in story only ever published in the relatively rare (and expensive) Marvel Made Paragon Collection: Chris Claremont Premiere Bundle. To top things off, the one-shot will feature bonus materials that spotlight the legendary creator’s over five decades in the industry.

Per the official synopsis for Wolverine by Chris Claremont #1 from Marvel Comics, “Wolverine’s archnemesis strikes in one of the rarest X-Men tales of all by legendary writer Chris Claremont! The story sees the savage Sabretooth catching his prey by surprise — and determined to claim the life of Mariko, the woman Logan loves! Wolverine may be the best there is, but Victor Creed is the worst! Yet even if Sabretooth can get the upper hand on his bitter rival, Logan has one thing he doesn’t: friends! Get ready for one of the bloodiest fights you’ve ever seen the X-Men in, in which Creed shares some shocking insights with Marvel’s mutants!”
Chris Claremont is by far one of, if not the single most influential X-Men writer of all time, being personally responsible for countless fan-favorite concepts, characters such as Emma Frost, super teams like Alpha Flight, and entire storylines including Days of Future Past. Throughout his career, Claremont has helped chart the course of history for mutantkind as a whole across decades, while in turn helping to determine the modern-day landscape of the Marvel Universe as a whole. In recent years, Claremont has helmed a variety of throwback titles, many of which have revolved around key moments in X-Men history and have starred the likes of Wolverine and Kitty Pryde.
