Peter Parker has had quite a few identity crises over the years. Beyond the problems caused by his double life, he’s had to contend with symbiotes controlling him and numerous clones impersonating him. Now, a new Spider-Man is about to leave everyone wondering which one is the real McCoy.
Timed to coincide with the historic 975th issue of Amazing Spider-Man, the storyline will introduce two wall-crawlers. One will be based on Earth. The other will be operating in outer space, with a cosmic costume. The one on Earth is more violent than Peter Parker, but the cosmic Spidey is running around with strange companions.
The story will be written by Joe Kelly. After the opening issue, the art duties will be split between John Romita Jr. and Pepe Larraz. Romita Jr. will handle the issues set on Earth, while Larraz illustrates the adventures of the space-faring Spidey.

It’s anybody’s guess who the new cosmic Spidey is. Given Peter’s history, a clone, a symbiote, or an alternate universe doppelganger are all likely guesses. It could even be the real Peter Parker, taken into space under unusual circumstances. Well, unusual for anyone who isn’t as unlucky as Peter Parker, that is.
“I love really grounded, Manhattan based Spider-Man stories, and I also love when he’s in ‘fish-out-of-water’ mode,” shared Kelly. “You don’t get much farther from the pond than deep space. But why choose? Why not have… both? Hence, this Tale of Two Spider-Men. On either track, Spider-Man is facing down his personal demons in the wake of Hellgate’s brutal debut, because no matter where Spider-Man goes he brings inner turmoil with him. There are a lot of pyrotechnics in this arc, new characters and threats, but also a ton of heart as Peter and those closest to him try to move forward with their lives in the aftermath of a devastating event.”
Amazing Spider-Man #11 arrives in comic shops everywhere on September 3, 2025.
