Some new rumors regarding Marvel’s Vision show have emerged online.

It was announced last year that Star Trek: Picard’s Terry Matalas had been tapped as showrunner for an upcoming Vision TV series that is expected to premiere in 2026. Paul Bettany will once again reprise his MCU role as the titular android in the show, while no other casting has yet been announced.

Scooper Lizzie Hill of The Cosmic Circus was asked in a recent Q&A if the Vision show will be more inspired by Marvel Comics’ West Coast Avengers or by the solo Vision series written by Tom King that launched in 2015.

“From what we understand, it’s a bit of both, but it’s more original than most of the previous MCU shows, so it won’t follow a direct storyline like some of the rest,” Hill answered.

Not much else is known about the Vision show at this time. Vision technically died in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War; however, he was resurrected in the 2021 WandaVision series. That version of Vision was created through Wanda Maximoff’s grief, while another ghost-like Vision with no memory of his past life was also created. The two versions of Vision battled in the WandaVision finale, and the one that Wanda made eventually faded from existence.

The ghost-like Vision, meanwhile, still exists in the MCU, and the series will presumably explore what happens to him after the events of WandaVision.

While it’s expected to arrive next year, a specific premiere date for Marvel’s Vision show has not yet been announced. Up next for Marvel Studios’ television series is Ironheart, which premieres on Disney+ this coming June. Other forthcoming series include Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, and X-Men ’97 Season 2.
