Spider-Man 2 still has some amusing glitches, like Peter Parker’s floating head in a tuxedo, which adds unexpected humor to the game. The glitch involving the Venom suit allowed players to free-roam as Venom, but it was quickly patched by Insomniac Games. The floating head glitch doesn’t break the game and is just one of the harmless and amusing quirks that fans have embraced, making the experience more enjoyable.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may be one of the PlayStation 5’s triumphs, but Spider-Man 2 still has its share of glitches, like in one particular hilarious instance that left Peter Parker with a floating head. Thankfully, glitches like these sometimes enhance the experience in a way that players don’t expect,

Spider-Man 2 is the latest entry in developer Insomniac Games’ highly acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, following Spider-Man: Miles Morales from 2020. It continues the story of this universe’s Spider-Men Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they take on new threats in New York City a year after the events of the previous game.

The glitch in question involves a particular plot point that happens midway through the game, so for those who are avoiding spoilers, now is the best time to turn back.

After being stabbed in the side by Kraven the Hunter during a mission, Parker receives the infamous Venom alien symbiote from his best friend Harry Osborn, who was given the entity in Marvel’s Spider-Man as a treatment for a debilitating illness. The symbiote chooses to bond with him and give him Venom powers as it keeps him alive from the wound. As with previous iterations, the symbiote can become anything Parker wants it to be, and in this one mission, it transforms into a tuxedo that he uses to blend in with Kraven’s people. The funny glitch in question, posted by Redditor EatTheAndrewPencil, makes Parker’s body invisible where the tuxedo is supposed to be, leaving only his floating head bobbing around in a restaurant.

It’s not the first time a Spider-Man 2 glitch involved the Venom suit. There’s also another instance where players were able to free-roam New York as Venom, who was only possible to play as in one specific mission. Basically, players could pass through a wall in a nearby building as Venom to break free of the restrictions and play as the anti-hero for a little while longer. Insomniac caught wind of this and fixed the exploit in a patch pretty quickly.

Fortunately, the floating head glitch isn’t one of those issues that break the game and render it unplayable, as most of the Spider-Man 2 glitches players have found tend to be absurd and harmless. In the end, the visual of Parker’s head floating on its own while he’s supposed to be in a serious and tense spy mission was just highly amusing. Commenters on the post also found it entertaining, and fans have accepted quirks like these to be some of the more fun accidents that make the experience better.
