Get ready Spider-Man fans, because Marvel Comics is about to double down on the iconic hero by introducing a cosmic wall-crawler. Marvel has revealed what awaits Peter Parker after his devastating confrontation with Hellgate, and it involves Spidey being split in two, with one protecting the Earth and the other somewhere in outer space.
Marvel Comics has revealed information about its upcoming new arc for its current Amazing Spider-Man series. The Amazing Spider-Man #11 will kick off a new storyline that sees two Spider-Men protecting the Marvel Universe. While Peter Parker picks up the pieces of his life on Earth after his battle with Hellgate, the series will also follow another Spider-Man in a distant solar system.
Marvel Comics has remained mum on how exactly the new Spider-Man will come about, but it has hinted that an epic cosmic adventure is on the horizon for him (not to mention an adorable sidekick named Symbie).
Spider-Man Gets a Cool, Cosmic Clone in Upcoming Arc
Fans are Getting Both Street-Level and Cosmic Spidey at Once
Spider-Man has been trying to get his life back on track, but so far, things haven’t been going very well. After facing the Scions of Cyttorak, Peter managed to get a job at Rand Enterprises, thanks to a connection with one of his childhood friends. However, his new job has been in danger thanks to the Hobgolblin’s latest scheme. However, despite the odds, Peter managed to stop the Hobgoblin (not to mention Spider-Man’s ‘quasi-daughter’ Itsy-Bitsy) and keep everything in his life afloat. However, a powerful villain known as Hellgate is on the horizon, and he’s coming for Spider-Man.
Again, there’s been no hint as to how Spider-Man’s going to be split or what fans can expect from his new cosmic, wall-crawling copycat. However, it does seem to be an interesting change of pace. After all, for all the street-level heroism Spider-Man is known for, he’s no stranger to grand adventures across the universe. This is a good way of giving Peter more personal, down-to-Earth storylines while also getting to embrace the utter weirdness of the Marvel Universe with a simultaneous cosmic storyline. Whatever Marvel has in store, it should get Spider-Man fans of all stripes excited.
Marvel’s New Take on Spider-Man Gives Fans Twice as Much Fun
Cosmic or Street-Level, There’s a Spider-Man for Both Fans Now
Granted, this isn’t the first time Spider-Man has been cloned, nor the first time he’s been into space. But what’s cool is that Marvel Comics is attempting to tell two kinds of Spider-Man stories at once. Some fans might prefer the stories where Peter is in New York City, trying to do his best against insurmountable odds. Other readers might want to see Spider-Man completely out of his depth and take on the strangest threats possible. And with this new space-themed Spider-Man, fans will have the opportunity to have both types of stories at the same time.
The Amazing Spider-Man #11 is available from Marvel Comics on September 3rd, 2025.
