Warning! Contains Spoilers For Daredevil #12!
The Kingpin has always been one of Daredevil’s most dangerous villains – and while Daredevil usually comes out on top, that may not be the case now that Kingpin has a hellish new design that the MCU simply can’t ignore. Not only is Kingpin brilliant enough to manipulate events in his favor, even manipulating Daredevil occasionally, but he’s also strong enough to beat Daredevil in a straight fight.
The preview for Daredevil #12 – written by Saladin Ahmed, with art by Aaron Kuder – revealed Kingpin’s devilish new form, which adds another layer of difficulty to Matt Murdock’s current metaphysical woes. Daredevil’s life has been pretty difficult lately, as Daredevil’s seven deadly sins have manifested. These demons are now possessing the people in Daredevil’s life and trying to kill him.
Now, the possessed Kingpin seems to be on an entirely new level, easily defeating Elektra before turning his attention to Daredevil, and it doesn’t seem Matt has a prayer of beating him.

There’s no reason Marvel can’t explore Kingpin’s new demonic form on screen, especially within the context of the religious themes of the original
Born Again
storyline.
Daredevil will be returning to TV with the upcoming television show Daredevil: Born Again, which will be the first time Daredevil is officially part of the MCU. His previous show only made vague references and, by and large, werefar more grounded. Because Daredevil will be in this new fantastical world, he’ll be able to have more absurd stories. In the MCU, there are tons of demons – this is an established fact of the film canon – and giving Kingpin this demonic upgrade could be just what the on-screen version of the villain needs to finally defeat Matt Murdock.
Marvel has already shown they’re willing to make Kingpin more comic book-like in the MCU, as during his appearance in the Hawkeye TV show, Kingpin’s strength was upgraded to ridiculous levels. He was capable of tearing a car door off with his bare hands, and was durable enough to take an explosive arrow to the chest. This was a far cry from his more realistic feats of strength in the original Daredevil show. There’s no reason Marvel can’t explore Kingpin’s new demonic form on screen, especially within the context of the religious themes of the original Born Again storyline.
This new power-up has made Kingpin Daredevil’s physical superior in every sense. This isn’t a problem that Daredevil is going to be able to punch his way out of.
Kingpin’s Demonic Form Is Begging For A Live-Action Adaption
Embracing The Possibilities Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Daredevil and Kingpin have been fighting for decades, and it almost always ends in a fistfight between the two, with Daredevil leaving as the victor. This new power-up has made Kingpin Daredevil’s physical superior in every sense. This isn’t a problem that Daredevil is going to be able to punch his way out of, instead, he’s going to have to rely on his faith and find a way to exorcise the demon out of Fisk. While this would be a significant departure from Daredevil’s previous TV adventures, it’d also make for a compelling new season as Daredevil officially enters this new universe.
