THE UNDEAD INFECT MARVEL COMICS HISTORY IN NEW MARVEL ZOMBIES: RED BAND SERIES!: “Announced last week at Fangoria, Marvel Zombies rise again this September—more gruesome than ever as they infect the very foundation of the Marvel Universe!
MARVEL ZOMBIES: RED BAND will be a five-issue limited series written by Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan, the acclaimed writing duo who make their Marvel Comics debut next week in Bring on the Bad Guys: Green Goblin #1, and drawn by Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Jan Bazaldua. Labeled with a Parental Advisory and polybagged with a warning for explicit content, the Red Band imprint unleashes the full potential of Marvel Zombies storytelling, shattering any limits on gore, blood and horror! In the upcoming saga, the undead will consume Marvel Comics history, ravaging pivotal stories with their insatiable hunger including the fateful space voyage of Marvel’s First Family and the original Secret Wars!
THE DEAD RISE AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME!
It was the most important space flight in the history of the Marvel Universe – four intrepid heroes took off into the unknown and returned changed, gifted with great abilities…and hungering for human flesh! Travel back to the birth of a Marvel Universe parallel to our own but chock-full of horror since its very inception! Which heroes will rise to become the champions we know and love? Which will be torn limb from limb? And which will devour the scraps?
“Writing Marvel Zombies: Red Band is nothing short of a dream come true for Griffin and I,” Parker said. “As lifelong fans of the Marvel Universe and its storied past, as well as writers who have made their love for the genre of bloodsoaked horror a matter of public record, this project could not be more in our sweet spot. With Jan Bazaldua and the rest of the unbelievable talent bringing this crazy book to life, we are rewriting Marvel history in new and terrifying ways, and we sincerely hope you’ll join us.”
“Ethan and I are like mad scientists combining so many different things we love on Marvel Zombies: Red Band,” Sheridan added. “The result is this viscera-drenched, blood-soaked, gut-covered epic spanning across all the biggest events in Marvel history. It really should be clear, we have so much appreciation for the Marvel Universe… which is why it is such a shame that we have to rip it to shreds in the kind of disgusting fashion that one can only find on the other side of a freshly torn open polybag. See you there, True Believer.”

Rising Horror Visionary Mike P. Nelson Tapped to Write and Direct Jason’s Bloody Resurrection in Short-Form Vignette: “Horror, Inc., the original owners of the Friday the 13th film franchise, has tapped director and screenwriter Mike P. Nelson (the upcoming Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot, Wrong Turn, The Domestics) to helm Sweet Revenge, Jason Universe’s new, bloody short-form vignette and the centerpiece of the franchise’s bold 45th anniversary campaign.
Production for Sweet Revenge began in June, and is set to debut on both the Jason Universe YouTube channel and through a dedicated microsite hosted by Angry Orchard Hard Cider. America’s leading hard cider brand1 is sponsoring the vignette tied to a larger collaboration with Horror Inc.’s Jason Universe, which will continue to roll out for fans later this summer.
“I am so grateful that the team at Horror, Inc. saw something in Sweet Revenge and wanted it as a part of the Jason Voorhees story! And to think 30 years ago I was trying to secretly watch these movies on VHS when no one was looking. To have the opportunity to write and direct one of these stories is surreal – not to mention having an amazing team led by Chad Villella and Brianna Lee Johnson help me bring it to life! Not only is the vignette a new take on the beloved IP, it is a comforting, gory hug, reminding us why we fell in love with these movies. Much gruesome fun awaits you!” said Nelson, whose latest feature film, Silent Night, Deadly Night, hits theatres via Cineverse on December 12, 2025.
With Nelson at the helm as writer, director, and producer through his Rockford Road Pictures shingle, fans will drop into a chilling weekend in the woods filled with blood-soaked surprises only Jason can deliver. Known for his character-driven and classic slasher kill approach, Nelson earned acclaim for directing the 2021 Wrong Turn reboot, which was praised for its raw, grounded terror and relentless tension. His debut feature, 2018’s The Domestics, cemented his genre chops, blending post-apocalyptic grit with emotional intensity.
“Fans have been hungry for more Jason stories, and as we celebrate 45 years of this icon, we wanted to deliver a taste of what’s to come,” said Robbie Barsamian, Executive Vice President of Horror, Inc. “Sweet Revenge brings Jason back to his brutal roots, where he belongs, with Mike’s delivery of expertly crafted thrills and kills.”
“Angry Orchard fans love bold, unexpected entertainment—especially horror—so this partnership just made sense,” said Matt Withington, Senior Director of Marketing at Angry Orchard. “It’s a perfect way to celebrate 45 years of an iconic franchise while creating new experiences for our drinkers in a space that they are already passionate about. We can’t wait to continue to bring the partnership to life this year.”
The franchise is poised for a powerful resurgence timed to its 45th anniversary. Recently, the franchise debuted an all-new Jason Voorhees design by legendary FX artist Greg Nicotero, announced Jason’s integration at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights for the first time in nearly a decade, and has continued development of A24’s highly-anticipated “Crystal Lake” series. Horror, Inc.’s Sweet Revenge is the latest collaboration with Nelson and Angry Orchard, delving into the next chapter of the franchise to blend its storied legacy with equal parts nostalgia and fresh terror.”
