A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor is floating around, suggesting some well-known X-Men villains will be used heavily in the upcoming movie.
According to a new report from noted insider DanielRPK, the Sentinels will be used heavily in the upcoming movie. Specifically, they will be used by Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom to fight against the X-Men in Doomsday.
Throughout the X-Men comics, Sentinels were artificially intelligent robots that were created to hunt mutants, first created by Dr. Bolivar Trask. The robots have become iconic characters in the world of Marvel Comics and are used heavily in X-Men stories.
While the news has not been officially confirmed, set pictures from Doomsday’s production did show what users theorized were broken and destroyed Sentinels, suggesting that the robots may end up appearing in the film.
A ton of actors have been confirmed to be a part of Doomsday. These include Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.
More names for the upcoming movie include Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman’s Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke‘s M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen‘s Ava Starr/Ghost, Pedro Pascal‘s Reed Richards, and Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki.
