“Captain America: Brave New World” ends with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) hinting that he’s ready to put together another team of Avengers. With the landscape of the MCU looking a lot more crowded than it did when the Avengers formed in 2012, let’s take a look at who should be a part of the new team.

Joaquin Torres/The Falcon
Sam can joke around with his “Captain America: Brave New World” sidekick as much as he wants, but the new Falcon is one of the first obvious choices for a new team of Avengers.

Shang-Chi
This is a no-brainer. Along with being a good guy, there are few Avengers who could outfight him. Plus, the end credits scene of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” showed us he’s already in contact with the Avengers.
Captain Marvel and Thor
We group them together because they share the same caveat: Sam Wilson should recruit them if he can contact them and if he can get them back to Earth.
Kate Bishop/Hawkeye
Sam might understandably have concerns about Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) joining the team considering her age. But if she has the endorsement of the original Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), we doubt Sam would put up much of a fight.
Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Hulk, and The Wasp
These four are all members of the old guard who are still active with no plans to retire. Of course, Evangeline Lily’s retirement would necessitate a re-casting of The Wasp if she were to join.
Marc Spector/Moon Knight
Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) has been an Avenger in the comics, but his spot on the team isn’t guaranteed. If Sam learns about his dissociative identity disorder, he might have misgivings about him. Then again, a giant green monster who occasionally trashes cities was allowed on the team, so who knows?
Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
Like with the new Hawkeye, Sam might understandably have concerns about Ms. Marvel’s (Iman Vellani) age. But if Captain Marvel (Brie Larsen) signed off on her, he’d probably feel better about it.
Riri Williams/Ironheart
With her inherent genius making her the intellectual and technological successor of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), the question is how anyone could keep Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) away from the Avengers.
Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Spider-Man (Tom Holland) represents the biggest question mark on the list. On one hand, the spell that erased everyone’s memory of his secret identity means no one knows how young he is. On the other, it also means that – unlike Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye – he has no one to vouch for him, and it isn’t like it would take Sam long to figure out Spidey’s pretty young.
But still, it’s Spider-Man. How can you say no?
