One of the most beloved Ultimate titles from Marvel Comics is about to come to an end.
Per a June 20 X (Twitter) post from fan account DIZZY, writer Zack Davisson, who has served in script adaptation for Marvel Comics’ Ultimate X-Men by Peach Momoko, confirmed that the series will be coming to a surprisingly early end. In a now deleted post on Bluesky, Davisson wrote, “Did a great interview about Ultimate X-Men, and got to express that any of you who are waiting for the comic to be something other than it is–for some Grand Reveal where the “real” X-Men pop up or The Maker twists a magic dial… you will wait forever. The story is all there. Everything is there.” Davisson continued, “We’re working on issue #18 now. We have six more issues to go.”

Fans have a brand new digital platform for comic books and manga to look forward to, and Neon Ichiban might be what Comixology never was.
In an even bigger reveal, Davisson responded to the question of whether the series would be ending after issue 24 with “All of the Ultimate Universe stuff will.” Though this hasn’t been verified through any other sources as of yet, it implies that every single series in the current Ultimate line of comics will be coming to a close sooner than fans were expecting. That includes The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, Ultimate Wolverine, and Ultimate X-Men.
Currently, there is one more Ultimate title still waiting to be released in the form of Ultimate Hawkeye, written by Taboo, B. Earl, and Deniz Camp and illustrated by Juan Frigeri. The series will follow Charli Ramsey, aka Charli Hawks Eye, better known by fans as the Ultimate Hawkeye. The character debuted in the pages of 2024’s Ultimates #5 by Camp and Frigeri, and quickly established themselves as the latest in a long line of fan-favorites to emerge from the recently introduced reality of Earth-6160.

The series, by Deniz Camp and Cody Ziglar and featuring art by Jonas Scharf, finds Miles following his baby sister Billie through a portal to the reality of Earth-6160, where he almost immediately runs into the likes of Peter and Richard Parker, as well as the Ultimates themselves. Ahead of the series’ release, Camp described Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion as “an Ultimate Universe-wide story – and there might be a few life-changing revelations for both Miles and the Ultimates characters along the way!” Camp added, “I don’t want to ruin anything, but readers are going to learn more about a number of Ultimate characters, and some of the Ultimates characters are going to learn new things about themselves.”
