Power-Wise, Captain Ultra Lives Up To His Name, So He Should Be More Widely Recognized
First Appearance: Fantastic Four #177; Written by Roy Thomas; Art By George Pérez
Captain Ultra’s origins show off just how not only does the average person have the potential to be a hero, but is capable of gaining incredible power. He suddenly gained the full package of superpowers: superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability, and stamina. He can also fly, harnesses pentra-vision, telescopic vision, psychic resistance, and an eardrum damaging sonic scream. There’s nothing that Captain Ultra can’t do, and by proxy, few things that an antagonist can do to him.
His only weakness is a sudden fear of fire, which forces him to faint at so much the lighting of a cigarette, but even then, he’s able to manage his fears with therapy. Marvel Might Have Gone Too Far With Slapstick, It’s Answer To The Joker
First Appearance: Slapstick #1; Written By Len Kaminski; Art By James Fry
Some will simplify Slapstick as Marvel’s stand-in for The Joker, but even the Clown Prince of Crime may shudder at what this “looney” ‘toon is capable of, as former prankster Steven Harmon had his body transformed literally into a living cartoon. Like any Saturday Morning Cartoon ala Looney Tunes, his body is unbreakable. He can take any form of damage without dying and generally shakes off getting squished like a Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck. In addition to taking whatever substantial damage is thrown at him, his newfound physiology allows him to morph his body into something ridiculous and practical.

10 Biggest Fourth-Wall Breaks in Marvel History
Breaking the fourth wall has become a common trope for many heroes across the Marvel Universe, but which moments stand out as the biggest?
He’s just as much a sideshow attraction as he is a superhero, and in that regard, he’s as dangerous as a similarly innately insane cartoon-ish character like Deadpool. He even breaks the fourth wall much like Wade Wilson, even if Slapstick doesn’t match the same popularity and glory as Deadpool.

Quasar Was Too Powerful For Marvel For Keep Around For Long
First Appearance: Captain America #217; Written By Roy Thomas And Don Glut; Art By John Buscema
Once upon a time ago, Quasar was considered Marvel’s most powerful cosmic hero; as such, he was one of the brand’s leading stars in their hero line-up, but as time passed, he became almost too powerful to feature in comics. His appearances grew more stagnant and his comic titles became non-existent. Today, it seems as though he’s been completely erased from Marvel’s priorities. Marvel editor Tom Breevort once explained why Marvel ignored this Thor-level hero for decades. Ultimately, it’s because after his self-titled series ended, Marvel wasn’t interested in featuring such a pitch-perfect, level-headed hero.
While Wendell Vaughn debuted in Captain America as Marvel Boy, he wouldn’t officially evolve into the Quasar identity until Incredible Hulk #234, written by by Roger Stern, with art by Sal Buscema.
One has to wonder if his power level has anything to do with it as well, considering that, on top of being noble and rational, he’s practically impervious and unbeatable as a powerhouse. Such a straightforward and infinitely strong superhero is difficult to write, so Quasar may be too powerful to continue his journey.

Blue Marvel Is One Of The Publisher’s Underrated Genius-Level Heroes
First Appearance: Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel #1; Written By By Kevin Grevioux; Art By Mat Broome
Blue Marvel is one of the more overlooked members of the Avengers, criminally underrated despite having an intellect that surpasses that of Reed Richards. It’s not so much that he’s smarter than Mister Fantastic, someone who is often hypothesized to be the smartest man in the Marvel canon, but Blue Marvel has a knack for adapting his intellect to expand his mind to any given situation. This has allowed him to commit feats that not even Reed has been able to pull off, in terms of invention and imagination.
Adam Brashear does have invulnerability and super-strength, but clearly, his mind is his most promising strength. That would explain why he’s earned himself spots on the Mighty Avengers and the Illuminati. Blue Marvel is so powerful that then-President John F. Kennedy personally requested that he cease operations upon revealing to the public that he was a black man; he complied, but inevitably returned, greater than ever.

Wundarr The Aquarian Is A Forgotten Character Worthy Of Being Dubbed Marvel’s Superman
First Appearance: Fear #17; Written By Steve Gerber; Art By Val Mayerik
On the surface, Wundarr is best described as Superman with a baby brain. His origin story directly mirrors that of Kal-El’s as a baby sent away by his parents away from a world they were certain was ready to explode. The twist here is not only that the world did not perish after all, but Wundarr’s body matured as he traveled the galaxy, being adult-bodied by the time he crashed into Earth. The problem here is that even with a grown body and immense power, his cerebrum capacity was lacking because he lacked physical or mental training of any kind.

Grom The Over-Mind May Be The Strongest Eternal
First Appearance: Fantastic Four #13; Written By Stan Lee; Art By John Buscema
Grom the Over-Mind is one of the Eternals, born as such eons ago. As a collective, the Eternals are powerful enough to kill the Avengers, while Grom himself ranks among the strongest Eternals based on his psionic capabilities. When the Eternals themselves rank among the most powerful cosmic gods in the Marvel Universe, that is not an accolade to scoff at. Before committing to heroism, Grom alone conquered hundreds of worlds as a warrior. Alone, he’s decimated species, alien races, planets, and won countless fights, earning him the title of Champion of Champions. In layman’s terms, Grom is no joke.
Many of his biggest accomplishments came before even becoming the Over-Mind, a title thrust upon him after adopting the collective brainpower of several ancient Eternals. Becoming the Over-Mind merely gifted him the power upgrade that he needed to further solidify himself among one of the strongest heroes in Marvel history, even for those who never heard of him.
